What is this block party you speak of?

The Capitol Hill Block Party showcases over 100 of the best Northwest and national bands and DJ’s. CHBP’s low ticket price offers fans 6 stages over three days each summer in Seattle’s South Capitol Hill neighborhood. Surrounded by all the great amenities you get in the middle of our beautiful city, we’re all about independent music and culture, thought, and progressive politics. We feature excellent independent booths, food trucks, local non-profits, introduce you to local pro-music politicians, and raise money for The Vera Project (www.theveraproject.org), KEXP (www.kexp.org), and The Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce, as well as the neighborhood and various other charities.

When?

Friday July 26th: Gates 3pm. Saturday July 27th: Gates 1 pm. Sunday July 28th: Gates 1 pm.

Advance tickets are available through July 25th and at the gate, the day of the show on a first come, first serve basis. Get your tickets in advance to avoid the lines or the risk of them selling out! The festival box office will open one hour prior to gates. Friday 2pm // Saturday 12pm // Sunday 12pm

Where?

The main entrance to Capitol Hill Block Party is at East Pike Street & 12th Ave. At this entrance you may purchase tickets, pick up will call tickets, as well as pick up guest list tickets if you are so lucky. [Guest list and Will Call tickets, please go to designated GUEST LIST tent at entrance].  You do NOT need to wait in this line if you have already printed your ticket out. Please head straight to the ticket scan @ entrance.  Another entrance exists on East Pine Street at 10th ave by Oddfellows Hall. At this entrance you can access the festival if you already have a hard ticket or wish to purchase a ticket.

How Much?

3 Day Passes are currently $95. Individual day passes are $40.  There will be no reissues for lost or stolen tickets. All sales are final. Rain or shine.

* Note: The last three years of the festival have sold out. We encourage you to purchase in advance.

Best Deal: Buying a print at home 3 day pass in advance,  means you save on mailing or will call fees, single day credit card processing fees and pay less per day. So add it up!

Can I pay with a credit card/debit card at the box office?

Are there age restrictions?

People of all ages are welcome. Children 8 and under do not need a ticket, and may enter any outdoor venue, including the Mainstage. Some content may not be suitable for young children; parental discretion is advised. All children 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The Main Stage and Vera stage are both all ages. Neumos, BARBOZA and the CHA CHA stage are 21+ only, and you must have current, valid ID to enter. Please do not contact us asking if there are exceptions to this rule, there never will be.

Is there food?

There is an eclectic selection of food from festival vendors, as well as a TON of great food at the local restaurants.

How do i get there?

Capitol Hill Block Party is easy to get to via foot, bicycle or bus. Parking nearby is limited, so it is best to use some other form of transportation, and better for everyone anyhow!

Metro Bus

SideCar - similar to a cab, but Seattle locals will pick you up in their own car, on a donation only rate!

I’ll probably need extra cash while I’m there, whats the deal?

ATM’s are located at nearly every businesses inside the festival (including Big Mario’s Pizza, Neumos, The Comet) and several others nearby (in front of QFC on Broadway, Shell Station, Unicorn…)

Re-Entry policy?

You may re-enter with your valid wrist band only. We have changed things a little so you will no longer need your ticket stub or stamp to re-enter, just your wrist band for that day, yay!

What we dont allow

We search everyone as they enter the festival. We don’t allow you to bring in any of the following: weapons, projectiles, alcohol, dogs, cameras with detachable lenses, audio/video recording devices with external microphones, glass bottles, cans, wagons or carts, coolers, backpacks larger than 17″ x 12″ x 10″, chairs, cane umbrellas, laser pointers, air horns or other noisemakers, tents, flags, lounge chairs, instruments, drugs or drug paraphernalia. If you’re noticeably drunk or high or just an asshole you also won’t get in, and if you turn into any of those once you do get in, you’ll be escorted out (and no refunds).

Remember, we are freak friendly, so if you’re uptight about people that are different from you, you might want to go to the mall or something.

What we do allow

Cameras without detachable lenses, fanny packs, sealed bottled water, small backpacks/satchels (they’ll get searched), hats, sun block, lighters.

What about the alcohol?

We have three great beer gardens this year, and you can also drink at several bars inside the festival perimeter like Big Mario’s, The Comet, Cha Cha, Wild Rose, and Moe Bar. But to drink, you have to be 21 or older and have a current, valid ID. Acceptable forms of identification include an active state-issued driver’s license or ID card, an active Canadian driver’s license or ID card, military ID, or a valid passport. International driver’s licenses (except Canada) and Greencards are not acceptable. Expired ID also cannot be accepted.

It’s Seattle, what if it rains?

The festival happens rain or shine, and there are not refunds if it rains or if the lineup changes. Everyone listed in the schedule is confirmed to play, but acts are subject to change without notice. Please check back here regularly to find out anything about schedule changes.

I want my band to play at block party, how do we submit?

Sonic bids!  Although most slots have already been filled, we save a few for open submissions.(Submit Here!)

I am a business, how do I become a vendor at this years event?

I want to volunteer at block party?

Unfortunately, all volunteer positions have been filled.  Check back earlier next year!

If you are a member of the Capitol Hill community (more specifically the pike/pine coridor), we understand the affect that Capitol Hill Block Party has on the foot traffic, parking, and everyday commuting  Below are a few answers to your questions regarding neighborhood access, etc in hopes to make things more convenient. Any unanswered questions can be directed to info@capitolhillblockparty.com

When will the streets be closed and gates go up?

Street closure begins on Friday, July 26th, at 2:45 AM and affects Broadway to 12th, and Pine to Union

When do gates open/close and when does outdoor music stop?

Gates open:

Friday // 3pm

Saturday //  1pm

Sunday // 1pm

Outdoor music ends Friday // Midnight,   Saturday // Midnight,   Sunday // 9pm

Sound check will take place at 11am each morning of the festival and last for 30 minutes

When will this god forsaken festival end?

Closure will begin on Sunday July 28th at 9pm but there is no gaurantee that streets will be open or entirely cleaned until 5am monday morning

What if i want to go to a business in the area of block party?

Businesses fully located within the gate will not be accessible to the public, unless attending Capitol Hill Block Party.
